05 March 09 - 23:06I didn't Want To Retire In This Century Anyway!
I was taking my daughter shopping today and the refrain from a long-forgotten song popped into my head. I don't know why, but suddenly, there it was. How many of you remember these words?
"Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'.
You gotta have somethin',
if you wanna be with me."
Cool song but I still don't know why it suddenly began to play in my head.
Perhaps it is a subconscious response to the recent economic turmoil on Wall Street. I have obviously lost a third of my retirement account in the last few months. But, as the words point out, "Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'".
Or maybe the words were meant to remind me that I should never have counted on congress to come up with a solution to this economic mess. After all, "nothin' from nothin' means nothin'" (especially if it comes out of Washington.)
Not much 'insight' in this post but... well, you get the idea
